Lucy & Jack’s Newton Hall Wedding – A Day of Pure Magic

Some weddings are stylish, some are wild, and then there are weddings like Lucy & Jack’s—where editorial elegance met an unforgettable party. As a wedding videographer, I always look for those unique moments that tell a couple’s story, and trust me, this wedding had them in abundance. From the breathtaking setting of Newton Hall to a next-level dancefloor, and even a day-after adventure, Lucy & Jack’s wedding was something special.

An Early Start & Perfect Light at Newton Hall

The day began with a classic British wedding dilemma—would the weather hold? As I grabbed breakfast at a nearby Premier Inn, the skies were clear, but the forecast hinted at a change. I wasn’t taking any chances. I packed up fast and arrived at Newton Hall early to capture some stunning drone shots before the wind and rain rolled in. The venue’s architecture looked even more striking in the morning light, and I knew those shots would set the perfect tone for their film.

Inside, Lucy was getting ready in Newton Hall’s stunning bridal suite. From the moment I arrived, I could see just how much thought she’d put into creating a visually stunning day. She had a clear vision—an editorial-style wedding film, with an emphasis on key, cinematic moments. Pulling this off on a fast-paced wedding day can be tricky, but thanks to the incredible wedding planner Hannah Taylor keeping everything on track, Lucy got exactly what she wanted.

A Dream to Work With – Little Miss Boyco

Throughout the day, I had the absolute pleasure of working alongside Little Miss Boyco, an incredibly talented photographer. From the very first moment, it was clear we were on the same wavelength—both working to create something truly special for Lucy & Jack. Capturing a wedding alongside someone so skilled and easy to work with makes all the difference, and I genuinely hope our paths cross again. If you’re looking for a photographer who blends artistic flair with effortless professionalism, I couldn’t recommend her enough.

The Most Epic ‘Day After’ Shoot Ever

Now, here’s where Lucy officially became one of the most adventurous brides I’ve ever worked with.

During our pre-wedding consultation, we chatted about her vision for the film, and when she described her dress, I threw out an idea: “How about a beach run in your wedding dress?” The excitement on her face told me everything I needed to know.

The day after the wedding, while most brides would be enjoying a well-earned rest, Lucy was out on a freezing North East beach, running barefoot through the sand, her wedding dress billowing behind her. And then—she stepped into the icy waves. No hesitation, no complaints, just pure magic. That moment, that energy, is exactly why I love being a wedding videographer.

A Wedding That Became an Unforgettable Party

Lucy & Jack wanted their wedding to be an epic celebration for their guests, and wow—did they deliver!

They kicked off their reception with a champagne tower, made a high-energy entrance that had everyone on their feet, and from that moment on, the party never slowed down.

With Chris Smith Wedding DJ setting the tone and Joe Reeve on sax bringing the dancefloor to life, it was one of those nights where no one wanted to leave. The sax player weaving through the crowd, the energy from their guests, the sheer joy on everyone’s faces—this was a party in every sense of the word.

And in between all the madness? A moment of calm as Lucy and Jack took a breather, sat back, and dug into their wedding cake together—a quiet, sweet moment in an otherwise electric night.

Newton Hall – A Perfect Backdrop for a Wedding Film

From the stunning florals by Love Fiona Rose to the showstopping cake by Plumb & Rabbits Cake Studio, every detail at Newton Hall was curated to perfection. This venue is made for storytelling—whether it’s intimate vows in the gardens, golden-hour portraits on the grounds, or, in Lucy’s case, an adventurous post-wedding shoot by the sea.

Lucy & Jack, you didn’t just throw a wedding—you created an experience. And I’m so grateful I got to capture it all.

Would you run into the North Sea the day after your wedding? Because Lucy did. And it was epic.
